To see is to Believe

John 10:31:42

We want to see first before we can believe. We want to be assured. Focusing on what we see, can never sustain our faith. Faith goes beyond seeing. It is closing our eyes, so when we open it we can see with the eyes of Christ. No amount of words can persuade us to believe something if deep in our hearts we already concluded something else. We must first open our hearts and entertain some healthy doubts, so that we can examine further a situation or thing. In this way, we are allowing ourselves to be open to the endless possibilities that our faith offers. There is more than what our eyes can see.

Lord, teach us to be open so we can receive more. Amen.
