Meaningful Moments

I’m always amazed with people whose hearts are generous and hospitable. I experienced it countless times in mission and it always left me with unfathomable joy. They are generous in there time and very open in sharing their own experiences. They are hospitable; there hearts are wide open to receive even the unreasonable. They exude with joy and it contaminates me.

I like a simple walk with them, even in places others think are uninteresting, because being with them creates meaningful moments.

Generous and hospitable hearts creates meaningful moments.

Actually, these are the things that last.

Greater Joy

We have this passage from Matthew 16:24 that says, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

This is very hard, we say. And then, slowly we learn to deny and then we start taking up our cross only to find that when we deny ourselves we find even greater joy. Amazing grace!

Collaboration Is Fruitful

Collaboration is fruitful because it gathers together people and brings out creative and transformative ideas. It nurtures unity and love as minds are opened and different thoughts are respected.

On Sustainability

If we want sustainability we have to get our hands dirty. Sustaining membership does not come from one time big time events, it comes from consistent follow-ups and daily living and walking with our brothers and sisters. This is the difficult part, because it is easy to conduct one time big time event but it’s a different thing to follow through a brother to sister in there daily lives. But this is what we are called for, Jesus wants us to walk and build relationships just as He did. Relationship building sustains.

Broken To be Open

When we talk about brokenness of the heart, it brings a lot of emotions. Wounded by failed relationships and betrayed by friends and love ones, we coiled on ourselves and built a wall, so strong and so high that we are unable to feel again. Somehow we believe that only in this way can we protect ourselves from being hurt again.

However, life is not like what we think it is, it can be harsh at times. So we need to accept reality and respond to it positively. Yes, we coil and put a wall if only to mourn and nurse our wounds, but soon enough we need to open up if we are to live.

We are stubborn at times, so we need to be broken so we can feel and live again.

Sometimes it has to be broken to be open. A broken heart is an open heart. How can someone enter if it is not open?
