Leaders Are Like Eagles

I once read the following quote from an unknown author, "A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of his actions and the integrity of his intent. In the end, leaders are much like eagles, they don’t flock; you find them one at a time."

I would like to add some few thoughts. Like an eagle, a leader should not be afraid to be alone. It can be tough and lonely up there but leadership requires at times a different path other than what is popular and winnable. They don't always go with the flow. He is a visionary; he sees a mountain range when others only see a hill.
