Of Stars and Stripes

When I went to the USA, specifically in the Northeast region of CFC Youth, I was blessed to witness the passion and conviction of my brothers and sisters in the mission of the community during their Leaders Summit. Young leaders around 60 of them eager to listen and learn, worshipping with conviction and sharing inspirations. Some leaders were asking me, “Kuya, if Canada is True North, and you found inspiration on it, what is USA? To which I said, “You are the land of the free and home of the brave. Are you free enough to choose God and make Him your life and passion? Are you brave enough to answer to His call and proclaim God in all states and countries? You are free and brave! You just have to look at your flag and sing your national anthem and you will realize you are already prophesied long before. It is now time to stand up for God, not on your own, because if it’s on your own, you will just boast on yourself, but with God so that He will be glorified not you.” You are written in the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:6).

Isn’t Christ is written in the stars and stripes? Isaiah 53:5 said, “by His stripes we are healed.” You are anointed to bear witness to the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord, the One who bore our sufferings to give us an example of real love!

Isn’t it God use the stars in His promise to Abraham when he said in Genesis 26:4, “I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed”? You are meant to be as numerous as the stars! You are meant to be the fulfillment of Gods promise!

So rise up, be the stripes that will heal all wounds, be the stars that will give hope to all nations, be the free young people who will choose what is good, true and beautiful, and be the brave who will proclaim Christ love wherever you are! Be the stars and stripes!

  1. I hope you don't ever forget how truly blessed you are. God has blessed you with wisdom that only some of us could aspire. The next time you feel discouraged, take comfort in knowing that you are doing God's work and you've touched and continue to touch so many lives. Know that you are in my prayers. Continue to be open to God's will.
