It is important to be open-minded
in mission. We should be open wherever and whenever the Spirit will lead us.
Sensing the Spirit is very important because we have manuals to guide but the
Holy Spirit should lead us. When Jesus said to the first disciples in Matthew
4:19, “Come follow me.” Immediately they followed him. The response was
immediate! There was no delay. The call of the Lord requires an immediate
response! That is why when we are called to different area, assigned somewhere
else or given an instant assignment, we should be ready because it can happen sometimes
in an instant and even without explanation. Are we ready to pack things up and
go?
We should be open, whatever
assignments we are in, because the moment we are not, it will just stress us
out. Stress keeps us away from joy. Without joy I don’t know how we can thrive.
We might be able to survive but we will not thrive. To just survive is tiring
but to thrive is joyful!
Mission without joy is
like carrying unnecessary load; we will just end up tired and miserable.
Thrive don’t just
survive!
