Mission is not about
completing a task but fulfilling a call. If it is just completing a task,
mission becomes but a series of “check lists”, going from one task to another like
a machine. If it is a way of fulfilling a call, mission becomes more
meaningful. The series of ‘check lists” becomes beads of prayer and the tasks
ahead becomes guideposts to holiness. The journey becomes joyful and peaceful
and life becomes meaningful.
Our positive response to
the call of the mission is a response to our hearts unsaid longings. In mission
we find our purpose and vocation.
