We cannot define leadership without responsibility. Leaders who cannot
own their actions are no leaders at all. Antoine de Saint-Exupery once said, “A
chief is a man who assumes responsibility. He says 'I was beaten', he does not
say 'My men were beaten.'” He does not just take credit on victories, but more
so, he own defeats as well. He does not point fingers when everything’s going
wrong, instead he kneels down in acknowledgement of failure. He stands up
stronger from the lessons learned and move ahead eager to fight again.
