Jesus in today’s gospel rebuked
the wind and said to the sea, “Quiet now! Be calm!” Mark 4:35-41.
This gospel reading is
such a wonderful image of Gods fidelity to His people. He cares! Much more in
times of turbulent seas and howling winds of our lives! Even now, we can hear
Him saying, “Trust me, yes, you can trust me. If you cannot handle it any
longer just surrender to me and I’ll do it for you. You will reach the shore
safe.”
We can hear Him say to
us as well, “Be quiet now, be calm. You are safe with me.”
